In one of the most closely contested championship contests, Bayamon got a late three-point play from Diego Chavez (game-high 18 points) to win its first International crown. Jahaziel Fernandez added 12 points for the winners, while Jeremy Matos finished with seven points.
Robert Taylor, which held an 18-7 command after the opening stanza, got 11 points from Terrance Ford and 10 each from Markwan Adams and Kendall Martin. It was the 11th championship for Puerto Rico in the last 13 years.
48th INTERNATIONAL THIRD-PLACE GAME
Kenosha 56, Marquette Best 51
A 26-12 burst in the third quarter propelled Kenosha to third place, along with twin 16-point performances from Devin Griffin and Kyle Andrews. For the Best, Nick Owens tallied a game-high 19 points.
48th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONSOLATION GAME
Arecibo Capitanes 46, Caguas Libac 41
Nahire Rodriguez scored nine of his game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead Arecibo to the consolation crown. Arecibo, which sealed the decision with nine fourth-quarter free throws, also got 12 points from Geovaniel Melendez and seven markers by Joamil Perez.
Caguas, which had 12 different players score, got eight points from Gabriel Rodriguez and six points from Diego Agosto.
